My Students

Think of how often you use laptops and smart phones. Think of all the amazing things these digital devices allow you to learn and experience. Now imagine having no access -- or only extremely limited access -- to these devices. That would be us!

Our school is made up of a diverse group of kids.

Just over 75% are eligible for free or reduced priced meals and many do not have access to as many books as we'd like. Our school has two classes each of kindergarten through fifth grade students. In addition we have an on-site preschool, a school based health center, and a family resource center.

My Project

My students will use the pair of Amazon Fire Tablets in exciting ways. They will be able to access the Internet, where they can conduct research, practice skills, review concepts, and learn new material. With these tablets, my students will have access to a wide range of resources that will enhance learning and understanding in all curriculum areas. In addition, my students will have wonderful protective covers for the tablets to keep them safe and sound for years to come.

Demographics should not equal destiny.

My students deserve the best of everything. Giving them a solid understanding of technology applications in the early grades can be the springboard to achievement in later years. We believe that projects like this can make a big difference!
