Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Picture this.....a desk full of crumpled papers, broken crayons, and books with ripped covers. Learning how to stay organized is a key component to being a successful student. This is a critical life skill that will help them get a head start on becoming college and career ready.

My third grade students come from many diverse backgrounds.

Our school is a high needs school located in the Bronx and is one of the largest elementary schools in the area, with approximately 1,200 students in attendance. Our classroom is composed of many different types of learners. My students are general education students, students with disabilities and English Language Learners. As a second year teacher, I am learning alongside my students as we find ways to keep organized and learn on!

My Project

These materials will make such a difference in my classroom. The seat pockets will allow students to safely store all of their important materials and books needed for the day. Not being able to find materials quickly can cause students to easily give up on themselves. The pencil pouches allow students to keep all important writing utensils corralled and ready for use. The write and wipe pouches keep all of their important daily documents in one place and allow students to reuse worksheets, in turn cutting down on paper clutter in desks. The safety ID tags will help students stay organized during class trips and allow them to easily identify their classmates in sometimes crowded situations. The desk organizers will help those students who need that extra bit of assistance in learning how to keep themselves organized. Each of these materials will allow my students to gain self-esteem and confidence in themselves as a lifelong learner.

Your donation is a building block to my students' success.

With your help, my students will have the opportunity to build basic organization skills. This life skill will boost their confidence and give them a true sense of responsibility.
