Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergartners are energetic kids with a love of learning. They are eager to learn and eager to play. In our district, over 90% of our students come from low-socioeconomic families. A large percentage of them meet the definition of homeless. Their parents are struggling to pay rent and get food on the table. They are working necessary jobs for us and for their families.

My kindergartners worry about starting school (and staying safe), and yet, they still want to come to school to explore, create, read, write, learn and grow.

I want my students to be safe and stay healthy as they work hard to learn to read and learn to use technology. I want them to have the materials they need to be safe and healthy, and also to learn language arts, math, science and social studies.

My Project

When we return to school in the fall, we will be splitting our time with school learning and distance learning. We will be social distancing when we are in the classroom. My students will be working and learning within a separated space with classroom materials. Each day, another child will need that same space and those materials. My students need disinfected work spaces and school supplies. They will take home classroom materials to continue to learn from home; I do not want them taking home germs or viruses. I need to keep my students healthy. Viruses can travel between home and school.

Please help me to disinfect my classroom and my materials so that I can keep my students healthy while learning from home and at school.

These disinfectants will make school supplies readily available to all students for home and school use. I will be able to disinfect all shared spaces and items readily with these essential supplies. I will not send home materials that have not been cleaned and disinfected properly, and they will be disinfected upon return. I am taking extra precautions to keep my students safe and healthy during this pandemic.
