Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom consists of students with wide-range personalities, including children who may fall under the category of ESE (exceptional students), EBD (emotional behavioral disorders), and ESOL (English as a second language). Students are varied between sixth and seventh grade, consisting of mainly Latino/Hispanic, African American, and Asian descent. These students are categorized as the lower performing students, or bottom 25%, as most have not passed the FSA or Florida Standards Assessment. These students come from unstable and low-income households, so it is expected that they sometimes feel less inclined or motivated to perform, but with the right amount of dedication and innovation, ensuring their education is a successful one should be an easy feat. They are caring, thoughtful, inspiring, hard-working, and bold. These students are in need of materials to make their learning a unique, exciting process.

My Project

I have researched essentials oils, and the research shows that these oils are conducive for learning as well as maintaining a clean environment. I plan on diffusing a variety of oils not only to purify the air we breathe through our masks but to also create a warm and inviting environment.

Essential oils have been known to cure ailments and alleviate anxiety and stress.

Coming back from distance learning, my students and myself will have heightened anxiety due to many unknowns. I plan on creating a safe and clean environment that is conducive to learning.
