My Project

My amazing students are neurodivergent 5th graders at a Title I school in the Southeast. Some must work incredibly hard to overcome the challenge of self-regulation.

I have selected a variety of items to both support and reward the use of self-regulation strategies.

These items tap into specific needs and preferences of my students - fidgets, self-regulation aids, art supplies, action heroes, outdoor activities, and more!

Students will have daily access to the self-regulation tools and supports as needed. Teaching tools will be used in teaching sessions while they are in a regulated state; this will allow the students to refer to them in moments of dysregulation. The rewards will be available on a weekly basis, based on the number of tickets they have saved up.
