Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from low socioeconomic homes and are battling various experiences and traumas. We are a Title l school where we do everything we can do give our students the basics, things they need at home, and extras to supplement their learning.

Our scholars love coming to school and broadening their learning but they need some snacks to make it through the day!

Though this is a amazing community, we will not be able to give the students a little bit extra! Please help us help them and end the year off strong!

My Project

Help our kids learn during this difficult time, with a snack boost to help them get through the day!

When my co-teacher and I created our first few projects, she was able to find out what the kids really liked.

We ran out of Pirate Booty and Skinny Pop, as well as the Honest Kids juice, the kids favorite go-to snack.

My students and I are constantly having conversations about what they do and do not like. Some of our breakfast items given at school they will not eat and they are still hungry. This project will help give us that extra boost when we get a breakfast they can’t eat or don’t like. These basic snacks will really help!

I would never want my kids to be hungry and sometimes they are. When we have extra food, we send it home with them but now, we could use some help. I’m keeping the amount of this project low because I want enough to send them home with and have at school.

A friend in need is a friend indeed - of snacks and drinks!

Help me help my students to not be hungry in school so that they can really focus on learning in the classroom. With this pandemic, they have already been through so much, being hungry shouldn’t be an added worry. Whenever they ask for more food, we always find a way, even if it means purchasing it ourselves, to give it to them!
