My Students

We build time to into each day for Social Centers. Social Centers are a very important part of our day. It is a time to learn to play and interact with peers and to use our imaginations.

My students are a group of bright and eager Kindergarteners.

We are an ICT classroom, with a mix of general education students and special education students. They love to learn, play, build and socialize. We spend a significant time each day on common core academics. I believe that we still need to make sure we find time in each day to allow for social and emotional growth. Each day we have Social Centers. Social Centers are a very important part of our day where they also learn and grow socially and emotionally.

My Project

My students will use the K'Nex, Wedgits, and SmartMax toys during Social Centers. These building toys will provide my students with fun materials that they will use to play and work cooperatively. During social play time they will also learn building skills. Students will use their imaginations to create various buildings and vehicles.

My classroom is lacking building toys and play choices are quite limited during social centers.

My students would be thrilled to have a variety of building toys to experiment with at school. These small opportunities help keep my students motivated at school!
