Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class, is a class full of unique, brilliant, yet delicate minds , the only problem is we lack certain items which would benefit and support my students growth, both acedmically and emotionally. We were blessed with our Sensory project that was just recently funded, and it has made a world of a difference. My students now have a wonderful "Calm Spot" with various stress relief and sensory play items they absoultely love.

Our classroom is made up of Kindergarten through Third grade students with Emotional and Behavioral disabilites.

It is a self contained class , so we do all our learning together everyday. My class means the world to me , and I feel they deserve it all. I love to see their faces when we receive new things to put in our room. The students just get so very excited and there is nothing better than that for me!

My Project

I have chosen a wide range of exciting art supplies that are different then the usual supplies my students have used in art activities. I want to expose my class to a wide variety of artistic expression to help them feel happy and ready to learn.

My students respond very well to art activities and it has proven to be very therapeutic.

We have a "Calm Spot" thanks to the previous Donors project and I want to extend the area to include art therapy. My students mean the world to me and I love to see them smile and feel a sense of self-esteem when they succeed at using their imagination.
