My Project

My students are incredibly bright, but many have distractions that get in their way of success. Some of these involve personal problems that they have outside the classroom, and others are inside.

I believe that with just a few items, we can help negate the classroom distractions and create a warm and welcoming environment that is easier to learn in.

In our school’s classrooms we have intense overhead lighting that is jarring for many especially with sensory issues. These lamps will allow me to keep the overhead lights off and maintain a warm environment. The fidget toys and calming strips are proven to keep students more focused and less distracted.

I want to help make the classroom a place of success for all of my students, and especially help students with disabilities and social emotional issues thrive!
