My Students

I am an AIS teacher located in the New York City. I teach eager kindergarten, first, second, and third grade children who are struggling readers and writers. My students are devoted to learning but need a different approach toward their education. They need small group instruction that uses many types of manipulatives.

When my children are successful, the look of wonder in their eyes is a sight to behold.

It is truly what makes being a teacher the best job in the world.

My Project

I teach struggling readers that have developed a fear of reading aloud. I am always looking for new ways to engage my kids. While I was in another teachers room I spotted these fabulous karaoke microphones. My fellow teacher was ecstatic about these microphones. Suddenly her students were always begging to read aloud and practice their fluency.

Imagine a group of children actually loving to read and practice their fluency.

My fondest hope for my students is to get excited about reading.

I know my students will definitely become the awesome readers they were always meant to be. Please help!
