My Students

Performing builds confidence, independence, and creativity! My music students love to sing, and love to perform, so why not provide them with another fun way to showcase their inner super star? The more opportunities I can provide my students with to perform, the better!

I am the music teacher at the best public charter school on the South Side of Chicago.

All of my students are in grades kindergarten, first, and second; they are little students preparing for a big world! I am lucky to work with my students, they never cease to amaze me with their love for performing, singing, dancing, theater, and poetry!

My Project

As a music teacher I know of the important and significant effect that music and performance has on students who receive a worthwhile music education. I am committed to finding new and unique ways to allow my kiddies to show off, sing, get into the spot light, and belt it out! A karaoke system is a fun way to let my students practice performing in front of audiences of all sizes, use a microphone, sing along to accompaniment, and to get over the stage jitters. I would love the chance to use a fun an non intimidating activity like karaoke singing as a way to allow my students to meet their inner superstars and divas. It will be especially rewarding to provide a way for many of my students who have never spoken or sang into a microphone a chance to take center stage! Music class is a great place to make memories!

I am so excited to watch my little divas and American Idols continue to spread their wings and SING!
