Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with a wonderfully diverse group of young learners from TK to 2nd grade, each bringing unique abilities, cultures, and languages to our classroom. Our environment is warm, welcoming, and student-friendly, designed to nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence. My students are enthusiastic, hardworking, and eager to explore new ideas, collaborate with peers, and grow academically and socially. Together, we create a supportive and inclusive community where every child feels valued, encouraged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

These books will focus on essential social-emotional learning skills and important life lessons.

These books will help my students learn about sharing, friendship, self-control, emotional regulation, and making good choices. Stories like The Little Book of Sharing and Teach Your Dragon to Make Friends will teach my students how to interact positively with peers, while books such as My Magical Feelings and B is for Breathe help them recognize and manage emotions like anger, frustration, and anxiety. Other titles, including Teach Your Dragon to Understand Consequences and Train Your Dragon to Follow Rules, emphasize responsibility and decision-making, while Be You! and The Boy with Big, Big Feelings encourage self-confidence and embracing individuality. Books like The Humble Pie and Help Your Dragon Learn from Mistakes promote a growth mindset, teaching kids how to handle setbacks. Additionally, stories such as The Cool Bean and The Smart Cookie reinforce the value of kindness, teamwork, and being a good friend. With a mix of engaging storytelling and relatable lessons, these books support social-emotional learning in a way that is both educational and enjoyable, making them perfect for my classroom.
