My Students

Coming to you from Laurelton/Rosedale in Southern Queens, our K-2 students are full of energy and excited to engage in learning. We are 165 students strong within just our early elementary division.

It's Fall and our students are immersed in Computer Science.

They are enjoying our "homemade" STEAM "unplugged" activities which include wipe-off grids for Algorithm practice and plenty of Spiced Drops for building.

Kindergarten, First and Second are working hard to understand Algorithm logic, in order to prepare for the CS challenges ahead, as they take on the world!

My Project

Computer Science has now entered the K-2 Early Elementary Division of our Pre-K-8 Public School. With limited resources, we have been making due with "homemade" tools for teaching and learning Algorithms.

The students are beginning to understand the logic and are eager to expand understanding through new tools such as a newer generation iPad to run a Dash Robot and "Kid Power" to "Steam" a STEM Robot Mouse.

Our challenges include limited funding, therefore, we are making a go of Elementary CS with a set of iPads which were originally slated for disposal. Function and power are limited with these units; the kids, however, are happy to share these seasoned units as we promote the understanding and team unity within our school community.
