A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are so moved by the continued support that the Donors Choose community gives us. The generosity of others inspires use daily and we are truly blessed.
My students live in a high poverty and high crime neighborhood in Philadelphia.
The basic needs we take for granted are not being met on a daily basis. As if this struggle was not enough to deal with, they are exposed to the reality of crime and drug use that haunts their neighborhood.
Despite all of the adversity, my students want to succeed and to compete on a level playing field with their peers. The needs are great but they are willing to work hard.
My Project
It is difficult to sit in our desks all day and stay focused. With clipboards and chart paper, we can walk around the room and engage in different learning stations for an interactive experience.
My students need these supplies so we can engage in movement and learning at the same time.
Gallery walks, SCOOT, presentations, and anchor charts make learning fun. In order to continue to participate in these activities we need supplies. Clip boards will make writing information easier when we are up and around the room. Chart paper is a way to display information or questions about the topic. Copy paper will be used to make task cards for SCOOT. We need to replenish these supplies so please help.
