My Students

My students are creative, kind, giving, and upstanding.

I've been a teacher for 14 years, and these students have blown me away.

I've seen students from various backgrounds and ethnicity in several states. Our students are really amazing. These are some of the most talented and creative students I have ever taught. They are also the most tolerant and the most kind.

My first day at school, I could instantly see their dedication and hard work. Students call you Miss, they say thank you and please. They open doors. They ask questions. These students are creators, artists, singers, gamers. If you walk up and down the hall, you'll hear over 30 languages spoken between friends. If you walk into a game, you'll see everyone sitting together, not in cliques like I've seen in the past. It's a wonderful community and they deserve the very best.

My Project

If I can get the copies, I'd love to have my students read this text along with a couple articles for my Freedom and Justice unit. Once they have chosen their articles, they will use this anchor text as way to create a lesson that would engage their classmates in a rhetorical analysis task, argument task, or a service project that would connect with the text and the article.

Since my school is over 60% free and reduced price lunches, we aren't allowed to make them buy books for class.

With the budget cuts, we aren't able to buy new text. And with Covid, I need them to have a copy of something in case we go remote.

Please make this happen for my kids and my school. I would be so very grateful!
