My Students

Do you remember back when? When you were required to climb the rope and do pull-ups in PE? I do. With the use of a chin up bar my students will get the opportunity to work on their upper body strength and endurance and hopefully conquer both feats.

My students are from Minnesota and attend public school.

Their are 4 Elementary schools here, along with 1 Middle School and 1 High School. We are a very diverse school/town with high poverty rates. Our enrollment is on the rise so we are very well congested in our building. I teach my students PE in the cafeteria, while another PE teacher teaches in the gym. I teach students in grades 1-2. They are full of energy and LOVE learning and playing games. I get asked many times a day if they can stay in gym class all day long! :)

My Project

We are requesting a chin-up bar to place in our gymnasium. Right now we have to drag equipment outside to complete the flexed arm hang/pull-ups on the playground equipment. This bar will mainly be used for Fitness Testing throughout the school year and can be used for many many years to come. My students will learn how to do a pull-up and increase upper body strength.

Donations to this request would be greatly appreciated.

Getting a chin-up bar in our gym will be much easier than having to drag mats outside and try to complete our Presidential Fitness testing on the playground! Especially living in Minnesota where the weather is far from ideal most of the time.
