This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

PGPA's music program is small but mighty. Our primary method of fundraising for the program is putting on concerts, but there are no concerts and there is no learning without music. A robust music library will enable students to develop music literacy skills, which they can then apply to performances and community settings.

We need a jumpstart on building our music library so that our current and future students have as many options available to learn as they can.

My goal is to create the beginnings of a diverse and meaningful music library by selecting 2-3 pieces per choir that will be used in the coming school year. This music pieces will be utilized by our program for years to come as we return to old favorites, take in new musicians, and respond to the needs and wants of our school community.
