My students need jumpropes for individual jumping and for group jumping, in order to have enjoyable, daily exercise both at recess and during PE time.

My classroom is in a high-need community, and we, like most other schools, have very little money for anything extra. The teachers at our school do so much- we donate time and as much money as we can to make our school great! Our school is our "family", and we want to take care of our family

Our school has very limited PE supplies! The children work very hard to do their best academically, and have done a great job raising their test scores and performing up to the best of their abilities. I don't want to sacrifice fun, though, in the academic race. Remember the fun we used to have on the playground at school? I remember jumping rope, singing songs, jumping as fast as possible in a race to see who could get the highest jump count...Don't you?

The problem is, we don't have jumpropes! I only have one jumprope in my room. It is the MOST sought after play accessory every day at recess. The kids LOVE it! One day, I borrowed some big jumpropes from another teacher (different school) and we played with them on the yard. The kids LOVED it! We had so much fun. Every single child participated, both boys and girls!

I have always wanted a classroom set of jumpropes so my students could all have a rope at the same time, or not have to wait in a huge line to get a turn. Exercise is so important for the kids, and it helps them focus when it is time to work. Most of all, I want to help these kids remember school as a fun place. They will have the rest of their life to work. Don't you want kids to be able to look back at elementary school as a place where they had some good, old-fashioned fun that didn't involve a video game or TV? Jumpropes will help bring both fun and heart-healthy exercise to these kids.
