My Students

Our school is fairly a new school that is now beginning sports teams for middle school grades 6-8. Our school is located in the heart of a poverty-stricken neighborhood surrounded by drugs, guns, and violence. Only 2 percent of residents have a Bachelors Degree. We started this school with hopes that we could help turn this community around. There are so many amazing families that are a part of this school and community but unfortunately, they are faced with so many challenging circumstances. Our kids have been through too much at such a young age. From witnessing murder, drive-by shootings, domestic violence, being victims of child molestation, not having food or clean cloths, grieving the deaths of parents, to even battling suicide themselves. But yet they still come to school with a smile on their little faces.

Sports and Athletics help give our students something to believe in.

My hopes are that our student-athletes will earn a scholarship to college, graduate, and come back home to change their family’s circumstances. Sports can help them make that change. Our students need to make that investment NOW. Sadly enough for some, sports is their only way out.

My Project

These donations will add the element of strength and conditioning to the organized Team Sports throughout our school. Currently, our teams are Basketball, Cheerleading, and Volleyball. We plan to add Flag Football and Track next season. Right now we have very few items to use while training. These items will help improve the intensity and effectiveness of practice and training. Having multiple pieces of equipment will allow more student-athletes a chance to train simultaneously instead of standing around waiting for equipment to become available. Practice sessions will now be more productive.

Strength, endurance, speed, and agility are all things that our student-athletes will be able to enhance with your generous donations.

A lot of our students have talent. With the right training, we could transform that talent into a real opportunity for our kids. All of our players will be bigger, stronger, and faster. This will lead to better performance for our middle school teams here at our school.
