My Students

My preschool students have special needs and learn in different ways. They come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and receive occupational therapy in school to help meet their needs. They all have strengths and individual personalities that make them near and dear to me. The use of a trampoline will provide sensory input in a structured manner to help them be in a “just right” state to learn and interact with others. Movement leads to learning! Thank you!

My Project

This trampoline will help my preschool special needs students meet their sensory and learning needs by providing them input for their bodies to be in a “just right state.” It will be used in therapy sessions for movement to help organize the child’s body and mind through through therapeutic movement activities such as obstacle courses, movement breaks and preparation to learning. It will give them a way to love that is safe and structured in their educational setting. The trampoline is just one piece of sensory equipment needed in my space, but will be used for both children receiving occupational therapy as well as physical therapy.
