My Students

Every day nearly 60 eager students enter my classroom ready to learn math and excited for what new project we will do that day. I want them to maintain this excitement for math throughout their lives. The best way to achieve that is to ensure their success NOW!

Despite the hardships they face outside of our school, my 4th grade math students are smart, eager, and ready for a challenge.

We are a Title I school where nearly every student receives free breakfast as well as lunch. Many of our students are given weekly food bags to take home to get them through the weekend. Our assessment data has shown great gains with our students over the last 2 school years and I want to continue that momentum and help my students discover their full potential.

My Project

The Jump Math Curriculum will allow me to ensure that we are working towards meeting the requirements of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). With the introduction of the CCSS, we have struggled to find materials that will meet these standards in a cohesive way so that all of our children can learn. The Jump Curriculum will solve this problem!

This math curriculum will provide me with a means to meet the needs of each student in my classroom.

This curriculum is research based and proven to lift students to meet their mathematical potential. The manner in which this curriculum breaks down each concept into minute details ensures that students do not get lost and misconceptions are easy for a teacher to identify before a child learns a concept wrong. The best way to teach a child to love math is through their own success.
