Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a first grade-inclusion class. My students are hard-workers who always try their best. They enjoy learning reading, writing, and math the most. They also express their excitement of learning when I provide them with the opportunity to use their creativity.

My students' lively personalities and curious nature, makes teaching rewarding and inspiring.

They encourage me to make a difference in their lives by providing a welcoming, safe, and secure classroom. I always want to be a positive influence in their lives by encouraging them to use their imagination. While learning, I provide students with plenty of materials that assist them in learning about the world around them. My students are truly unique individuals!

My Project

My first grade students will practice building numbers and their place value by utilizing jumbo magnetic ten frames. They will build numbers such as 15 by filling ten counters on one ten frame and five counters on another ten frame, on individual magnetic boards.

Students will also engage in interpreting literature of different genres by illustrating events with write & wipe crayons on their individual boards.

During writing, students will enjoy writing sentences on sentence strips about events they read in their textbooks. They will also create pictures of their choice during "Fun Friday" with paint scrapers and jumbo craft sticks. Students will enjoy birthday pencils on their special day too!
