Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students attend elementary school level and reside in one of the poorest congressional districts of our nation. The children receive special education services in a Integrated Collaboration Teaching (ICT) setting.

Students with disabilities who receive Integrated Co-Teaching services are educated with age appropriate peers in the general education classroom.

ICT provides access to the general education curriculum and specially designed instruction to meet students' individual needs.

These students are motivated and eager to learn. Regardless of their status quo, they attend school everyday ready to learn and succeed.

A large percentage of my students live in unstable housing conditions in the South Bronx.

Therefore, I believe that my students should have the opportunity to have all the materials they need in the classroom to thrive and for that reason I am requesting the following materials because my students would greatly benefit from having the following books: Diaries of a Wimpy Kid & Dork Diaries.

Students can read the books when they are feeling frustrated, or emotional, or have completed all of their assignments/task for the day during free time for comprehension and enjoyment.

Students can learn new vocabulary from the passages while developing comprehension and a love for reading. They can also discuss with their peers what they learned from the passages such as the (e.g. Theme/Main Idea) from the passage. They can also answer questions: Who, Where, When, What, Why, & How.

Students would benefit and be so grateful to have these awesome books in the classroom.

Students also need the ink cartridges to duplicate assignments, homework, and more...

Students really need all of these materials for the classroom.
