This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hi everyone, I am a 7th-grade teacher at a Title I public school in District 10 of the Bronx. I teach hardworking students in the school’s honors academy, many of whom come from low-income or unstable housing situations.

My goal is to raise funds to buy prize items that will bring them joy as a reward for their hard work academically and behaviorally.

Therefore, I want to purchase personal items such as pens, note-pads to use as planners, stickers, etc. to put together a “goodie bag” for students who have worked diligently this year. In addition, a classroom printer would be so hopeful in maximizing instructional time in the classroom as students who may need a copy can obtain one immediately. Several students who have unstable access to a device or Wi-Fi would benefit greatly from paper copies of assignments. We know this seems like a small thing, but every minute of instruction counts to us!

With your help, we can provide students with essential items to bring a smile to their faces! If we can help our students with basic necessities, like printed copies, we can allow them to focus on the most important thing in school - learning and growing academically.
