Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is important that young people are provided with culturally enriching experiences that are transformative. Adolescence is a time for young people to be exposed to educational opportunities that will benefit, motivate, and inspire future pursuits.

My students will use these supplies to fundraise for life-changing travel to Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo!

Students will actively participate in helping work towards turning their dreams into reality. In collaboration with school staff, all fundraising events will be student-led and student-organized to support their leadership and entrepreneurial skills, all while boosting their business acumen in the process.

This project will help provide Black and Latinx NYC public school students gain new perspectives and build skills for their future through hands-on learning. Experiences in Japan will allow students to tap into their own interests and passions that can also be used for both personal and academic reflection. If funded, Journey to Japan! will help create a unique experience that will have a profound impact on the trajectory of our future generation.
