Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
What makes my students special are that even though they come from difficult backgrounds they really would like to learn. They would like to explore the world around them.
We are a Title 1 school in a high poverty area in Pennsylvania and my classes consist of special education students, ESOL students and low academic students.
My students would love to expand their knowledge and be able to identify with the real world today and visit places around the area.
My Project
We live "Math" every day and many students do not realize that! It is important to understand our economy and learn about our currency since children not only enjoy spending money but also need to understand at this age how important it is to save it too.
My students will gain a better understanding and awareness of the importance of money, its history, inflation, and how the Federal Reserve and United States Mint was established.
Your donation to this project will help my students construct number meanings through real-world experiences by participating in banking simulations while working with probability, fractions and decimals, which are all part of their math curriculum.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
