Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students are immigrants who have strong beliefs and ideas but struggle when writing them on paper. My hope is that with daily journaling, my students will develop their writing skills, reflect on their experiences, and grow both personally and academically.

Inspired by Erin Gruwell's transformative use of journals in "Freedom Writers", I want to provide my students with a safe and creative space to express themselves, process their emotions, and share their stories.

Many of my students struggle with writing confidence, and I hope these journals will help them recognize the power of their voices.

Your support will provide the journals, markers, and stickers they need to make this space uniquely theirs, fostering creativity and ownership in their learning journey.
