Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teen mental health is more important than ever, and sometimes, all it takes is a few minutes of reflection to make a difference. I will provide each student with their own journal that they can keep with them at all times. I will have stickers they can use to decorate the outside and also to place in their journals. I will have a box of colorful good quality pens they can borrow daily to write their thoughts.

Journals are a simple but powerful tool.

Each day, we will dedicate the first five minutes of class to journaling—giving students a space to express their feelings, process their thoughts, and reflect on what they’re grateful for or what they need.

By supplying gel pens in fun colors, stickers for personalization, and journals for each student, we can make this practice engaging and meaningful. Studies show that journaling reduces stress, improves self-awareness, and supports emotional regulation—key factors in teen mental well-being.
