This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hello, I am a third- and fourth-grade inclusion teacher at a highly disadvantaged public school in the Bronx. We have been playing Jeopardy in the classroom for the entire school year, and I must say, my students LOVE it. It is such a hit and gives a chance for a great review of what we have learned during the week. Using information from our curriculum, I design questions and answers for my students. Students choose a category and I pull the card and read the answer. They then answer in the form of a question. All of this helps to reinforce comprehension skills, decoding skills, analysis skills, addition and subtraction skills. It also helps me to figure out what areas of learning are the most difficult for my students from that week's lesson. Because it is so diverse, this game sparks the interest in even the most struggling learners! The students play individually or as teams, and we usually play for about 45 minutes a week. I use the Jeopardy concept in many ways, from individual student questions to group or team playing. The interactive version of Jeopardy that is for the classroom is known as classroom Jeopardy. One game would enable three students to play at a time. Purchasing one additional scoreboard and three remotes would allow students to play in teams of six. Each cartridge follows National Curriculum Standards and allows space for teacher-written questions/answers. Using this Jeopardy technology in my classroom would be a wonderful way to enhance instruction by engaging my students in interactive learning. Classroom Jeopardy would allow my students to augment their skills in an educationally challenging, yet relaxed atmosphere!
