JDHS' DIY Aquaponics Classroom Garden

Help me give my students an opportunity to create their very own DIY aquaponics system. We plan on creating the tower for the system on our own using the filament on our existing 3d printer and cading software.

My Project

To build off of the already great outdoor classroom gardens, composting project here at JDHS, we are seeking funding here to create an indoor aquaponics garden where our students can connect what they learn in biology class to a hands on DIY project that will be on display in our classroom every day as a teaching and learning tool. We can help to contribute to other classes here at our school - for example, our Culinary students who are always looking for fresh ingredients in their recipes, will be able to get our herbs that we'll successfully grow here in our aquaponics project. Doing projects like this are an excellent way for teaching students about how possible it is to harvest ones own food while being responsible citizens and exemplifying what it's like to live with a small carbon footprint.
