My Project

I must admit, I am a scheming, diabolical science teacher. Snidely Whiplash I am not, but I know very well which science topics draw eager students to the science reference section of our school library.

Every school year, my students ask me random questions at the beginning of class; almost always, these questions focus on orcas and black holes.

Why these two science topics? Who knows, but there it is. Last school year, to my chagrin, I realized that, whenever I guided my students to research orcas and black holes in our school's science reference area, there were no updated sources available. This project aims to remedy this educational injustice.

The books in this project are carefully chosen to not only satisfy the orca/black hole/obsessive humans in our school (and, again, I am a charter member of this group), but to add sparkly content to a few other science topics in our science reference library that are a bit skimpy. With the added generosity of the Gates Foundation, this project is truly a miracle of teamwork. Will you join us?
