Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am looking forward to extending my after-school dance program next year by offering tap dancing! The class would be made up of P.S. 18 students in grades 2-5 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. So far our after-school dance program has had a major impact to many students at our school; by opening a door into their artistic selves, and bringing self confidence to some students who were missing it! Also, I want to thank all the donors that helped our dance company get wonderful t-shirts that the dancers wear with pride to school every Wednesday. So this new tap class will begin with 15 dancers, I have done some research but unfortunately good tap shoes are not that cheap... I'm asking for your help to purchase 15 pairs of these tap shoes. I remember tap being my first form of dance class, and I will never forget the joy tap produced. I think the students spirits and souls will benefit greatly by learning the gift of tap! I am excited to offer tap class this year, hopefully by December and this class will help facilitate my dream of continuing to expand the dance opportunities and creative outlets to students for years to come! Thank you in advance for your generosity!
