Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students come to school and are excited to learn new things every day. They keep me on my toes with their inquisitive minds and their desire to work in collaborative groups. Our school is a Title I school, and we are located in a small community where every student is given the opportunity to become a lifelong learner. My goal as their teacher is to provide a comfortable environment for them to care about their work in and outside the classroom.
My Project
For some students reading comes naturally, for others it is a challenge. My reluctant readers love looking through the old Encyclopedias I have in my library. They love looking at real things around the world.
Time for Kids will give my students an opportunity to read about real world topics on a weekly basis.
The Time for Kids magazines will be placed in magazine holders in our classroom. The students will have easy access to each issue as soon as they arrive. We will use the magazines in small groups as well as whole group lessons. The students will be able to share what they have read about either orally or by writing about it in their journals. I cannot wait to see the growth in their reading comprehension skills. Thank you for helping my class develop a love for reading!
