My Students

Help upperclassmen students clean up the mess and the dropout rate!

Currently our school has a dropout rate that is over 50%.

In order to help decrease this statistic, this year our school is embarking on a Student Leader Mentorship program. Once a week, Student Leaders will teach a class of 9th grade students about High School issues such as; gossip, bullying, G.P.A, communication, etc. The students chose for this program are 10th-12th grade students who exemplify what a leader should be. Our hopes are that, by making a peer to peer connection, 9th grade students will see the importance of High School and have someone to go to when problems may arise.

My Project

The resources that I am requesting are to assist during the lunchtime mentorship. In order to have every student participate in this program, they will be eating lunch inside of the classroom. In order to promote hygiene and cleanliness, students will be making sure the classroom and desks are clean and ready for the next class to use. We are in need of disinfecting wipes for quick and effective cleanup.

Since our program is a brand new pilot, we have little to no resources or funding.

Your donation will help save us money that could be used to buy prizes or fund trips to visit colleges for 9th grade students. Please help us start a program that could increase our retention rate by at least 50%!!! Your donation can help keep kids Philadelphia students in school and on track to graduation!
