Thank you for reading my proposal! I am a third year teacher in a very large, high needs school in the New York City School District. This is my first year teaching a fourth grade English as a Second Language class.

ESL children need a lot of visual support and my school lacks the supplies necessary to adhere to all of their needs. It is very important for these children to keep up with current events both in our society and around the world. It is especially important for them to be exposed to current events outside of their community.

A subscription to TIME for Kids would be an excellent answer for these children! This magazine would open their eyes to the world outside of their community. It would also include the pictures and graphics to help overcome the language barrier that these children are faced with.

Your generous donation would truly allow my students an opportunity to become more aware of the important things that are happening all through out the world. You would be allowing them to take a step outside of their urban surroundings and be able to see current events happening all over the world.
