My Students

I have 35 students in grades K-5, who have been identified with a variety of learning challenges. They stay in the class with their peers and I offer support and learning strategies to help them master a variety of benchmarks. Children learn best in a variety of ways, each specific to themselves.

Our school works hard to meet the individual needs of each and every student.

While this can be a challenge, it is very rewarding when I see the light bulb go off over the students' heads!

My Project

Many resources that teachers are given are outdated and unfamiliar to the students. TIME for Kids is a colorful, interesting tool that the students love to read. It uses current events and kid friendly nonfiction topics. Each edition is a different topic that is associated with the season or time of the year.

TIME for Kids is a great way to teach about current events as well as meet the current ELA standards in both reading and writing nonfiction.

It is well organized and helps the teacher differentiate teaching strategies to individualize instruction for every student. They can't wait for the next issue to come!
