My Students
I absolutely love the energy and creativity that my ten and eleven year old students bring into our classroom every single day. They are full of passion, they love to learn, and they love coming to school. My students come to school from all backgrounds, all cultures, and from all family situations.
My students are energetic fifth graders.
We become a family throughout the year, supporting each other through the good times and challenges, and help each other to master the standards while still making learning fun.
My Project
Students love to read fiction, but nonfiction texts are also important! The nonfiction standards are often practiced using our Social Studies and Science curriculum. I would like to bring engaging articles into my classroom using TIME for Kids magazines to help deepen my students' understanding of the current events of our world.
TIME for Kids has a reputation of providing informational articles that are the perfect reading level for my fifth grade students.
I know that the discussions that come from using the magazines will challenge my students to think beyond themselves and how they can personally make a difference in our community.
