My Students

Every morning we start off the day with breakfast in the classroom. My students use this time to discuss current events and relevant news. This gets my students interested in the world around them.

My students come from diverse backgrounds.

They are 3rd graders that pride themselves in academic excellence. They are high achievers and eager to learn and excited about school. My school is a Charter School that prides itself in high academic achievement. We strive to provide all students with the means to become lifelong learners who work together as a community.

My Project

By getting a subscription to TIME for kids, my students will be able to focus on the skill of close reading of informative text, as well as having a starting point for interesting class discussions.The TIME for kids magazine offers engaging material that is so needed to keep my students interested and learning. We will use this subscription to enhance all areas of academic content with real life and relevant stories that make my students want to read and discuss relevant information that is found in these magazines.

Donations for this project will improve my classroom by engaging my students in material that is both informative and interesting.

The information in the magazines is both interesting and current. They will use these magazines to help them engage in close reading techniques that allow them to have discussions and be able to prove their point with real text evidence.
