My Project

My students work hard but play harder. Hird graders in pre-K through fifth-grade school are finding themselves in elementary education. They are no longer on the first floor with the pre-K—second graders, yet they are the "babies" on the second floor with the fourth and fifth graders. It is an interesting school dynamic, for sure.

My students long to hold on to their "youth" while simultaneously showing themselves as the "big" kids in the school.

They want me to walk them through every assignment, even the ones I know they can do independently, and they want a sweet treat when they show me that they can do it. They also submit biweekly job applications to be hired as classroom interns.

Regardless of their role on any given day, I love my students and desire to reward them for their hard work. When students complete intervention lessons, work collaboratively in groups, transition quietly in the hallways to not disturb other classes, or level up on benchmark assessments, they are rewarded with a sticker store, treat drawer, or prize box. In today's economy, it becomes difficult for one person (me) to supply classes with these goodies. Thank you for helping me reward my students for their hard work.
