This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Fifth grade is a crucial year for students and often times between testing and preparation for middle school, the students become fatigued and lose interest in their learning. There is so much that they have learned up until this point in their educational careers that it can become difficult for students to compartmentalize all the information they are given.

By using flashcards, number charts, and repetition, the students will be able to increase their math fluency skills and ability to recall basic information.

The games and activities will keep the students engaged in their learning and working towards their individual goals.

When learning can be done through educational games and activities, the students look forward to increasing their knowledge of concepts and rules. Watching the students' confidence grow as they demonstrate their ability to solve equations is the most rewarding feeling. The materials in this project will help the students be prepared with the background knowledge needed for middle school, it's their time to shine!
