My Students

I teach theater to 3rd-5th grade students. My students are from low socioeconomic homes and the majority live in poverty-stricken neighborhoods. Most of my students come to school in uniform, even if their uniforms need a little extra TLC, which I willingly give. My students are loving and eager to learn new things. They look forward to releasing energy and creativity in my theater class.

My Project

Our students are in school from 7:00am-3:30pm each day. Some of these students ride the bus and are up as early as 5:00am and do not get home until 6:00pm. Their lunch schedules are spread throughout the day and they may not eat anything for long periods of time. I want to help eliminate that hunger.

These snacks will make a difference in their learning because they will be able to remain focused on school and not on the pain coming from their bellies.

Some of our students have been getting snacks donated by parents or other outside organizations. We are running extremely low and need to provide more for our students. Thank you so much for your willingness to partner with us on this project.
