My Students

Our students are ready and willing to take on the challenges of a 21st-century education. They have many diverse styles of learning and need exposure to 21st-century learning resources. They need to collaborate with their peers and lead by example.

We are 95% African-American, 2% Haitian-American, 2% Hispanic, and 1% Caucasian with 94% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

Our school is located in the inner city of Miami, Florida. Although our students are faced with many socio-economic challenges, they seek a high-quality education to become productive citizens.

My Project

This project will provide snacks and treats for our young scholars. They can eat them throughout the day or during the evening at home.

These snacks will help quell any hunger for the next few weeks during the winter season.

Providing snacks ensures students will continue to focus on their learning, and not their tummies. Over 94% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Very few students bring a snack to school so this project will provide a much needed treat if students skip breakfast or get hungry before/after lunch.
