This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher and my students are autistic with different individual needs. Having a sensory area with differing sensory items allows my students to have an area where they can choose the item they would like to help them have a great day.

Sensory items help my students calm down when they are overwhelmed.

We want to create a great space for our students this year as they work on their social and emotional skills. These items can be the foundation of our individualized classroom sensory area.
