Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I have a class full of vibrant, joyful and inquisitive fifth graders. They are anxious about learning, especially when it comes to current events and world affairs. My students enjoy talking about politics, history, science and math. They are also independent thinkers and learners who soak up everything we discuss in class. Not only are they the amazing scholars, they are also amazing little citizens. They cooperate with each other and genuinely want to make a difference in their community.

My Project

I am requesting the physical education equipment because I want my students to experience the joys of working out with fun equipment. I am requesting soccer balls, volleyballs, dodgeballs, dancing scarves, bean bags, exercise dice and many other items to encourage physical activity. In our class we only have 2 balls and nothing else. My students love being outside playing and I would like to provide them fun structured activities for them to do. The exercise will not only help their physical wellbeing but their social emotional wellbeing. These materials will also help motivate those students who are reluctant to get up and move.
