Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My PreK class is located in the South Bronx in a NYC public school. My students come from immigrant families, essential worker families, single parent families, and foster homes, all of whom have been greatly impacted by the Corona Virus Pandemic. Despite adversity, my students and their families kept daily communication, and participation with remote learning. Everyday my students greeted each other with smiles and excitement to connect, play, and learn new things on Google Meets. I am so proud of not only their hard work but also their families’ commitment to their education.

My Project

Amidst the concerns of the spread of Covid 19, having different color coded bins will help my PreK students easily identify where their materials are located for easy access and clean up. Individualized bins will limit sharing of materials. The bins will provide a save place For East cild to keep their personal belongings, writing utensils, manipulatives, books, and various learning tools. As we return to school in September, it is important to plan ahead to find ways to keep learning fun, safe, and effective. These bins will provide safety, organization, and encourage child autonomy.
