My Students

We are fabulous Fifth Graders in a Spanish Immersion program who are excited for unique learning experiences! We are located in a rural area of California, and it is difficult to get access to museums, parks, and theaters that many people who live in cities have just a few blocks away.

We would love to be able to go on field trips to experience all our nearest city has to offer, but the cost of buses alone can often be hundreds of dollars due to the distance we have to travel.

Your donation would help to pay for field trips to museums, theaters, national parks, books not available at our local library, and many other unique learning experiences that children who grow up in rural areas struggle to access.

My Project

I teach in a Spanish Immersion program, which means my students are learning in Spanish AND English, and are completely bilingual. I am lucky in that my classroom library has plenty of books in English, but we desperately need some in Spanish as well.

These Spanish language books will give my students the opportunity to read quality literature in Spanish.

This supports their bilingual abilities, as they are working toward becoming proficient readers in both English and Spanish. Additionally, these books will provide them with a greater cross-cultural understanding.
