My Project

I am hoping to get the requested items as a means to promote social emotional learning in our middle school scholars.

We aspire to not only develop our scholars academically, but we also strive to equip them with needed skills to be more self aware and develop increased empathy.

Our scholars are special because they show up daily and are eager to learn. From the time they enter the building until dismissal, they are encouraged and developed using evidence-based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) interventions. As staff, we are not always privy to the home-life of our students. So it is of most importance that we are showing up in the manner in which we want our scholars and that we lead by promoting SEL.

As a school social worker, I want to ensure that our scholars are thriving in all areas. We have excellent teachers that prepare our students to compete academically. My goal is to add a layer of support and educate our scholars on ways to better learn their emotions. I requested some of the items to make the identified SEL space more relaxing and inviting, to increase better buy in from scholars. Lastly, it has been proven that SEL can decrease behavioral concerns, risk of suicide in youth and increase effective communication. Due to SEL's many positive benefits I am kindly requesting your donations to better serve all of our scholars.
