Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I’m requesting – pencils, markers, glue sticks, and tissue – are essential to maintaining a productive and healthy learning environment for my students. Pencils are particularly important as I go through several each day, and as we approach the end of the year, many of my students are relying more on teachers for supplies. By providing fresh pencils, I can ensure that all students have the necessary tools to stay engaged and mentally sharp, especially during these final, critical weeks.

Glue sticks are also vital for their class journals, where students record important notes each period.

Without glue, I’ve been relying on staplers and tape, but these are not as efficient. Glue would allow students to properly secure their work and maintain an organized journal, which is an important part of their learning process.

Additionally, markers and tissues are essential for their comfort and engagement. With allergy season in full swing, many students are becoming sick and need tissues regularly. Markers are crucial for creativity, allowing students to express themselves visually while working on projects and assignments.

My goal is to provide my students with the necessary supplies to stay focused and engaged in their learning, especially as we approach the end of the school year. These items will help keep them mentally sharp and prepared, even as they may be feeling fatigued or distracted due to allergies or the approaching summer break. By ensuring they have the tools they need, I hope to maintain their interest and motivation, helping them finish the year strong. My students are resilient and motivated, even as they face challenges like allergies and the end-of-year fatigue. They are creative, hardworking, and eager to learn, making them a special and inspiring group.
