This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are talented visual arts majors of may different ethnicities as well as socio-economic backgrounds. They were admitted to the school only after a meticulous auditioning process. They travel to our school from all across the city to pursue their passion for art and making art. They work extremely hard. This year, we will embark on printmaking.
We have an exciting assignment where my students create a detailed inchie drawings and etchings that are the size of a quarter.
Can you imagine drawing or etching on a piece that small? Here’s where a wireless digital microscope will come in handy. The microscope comes with a stand so that students can work freely. The wireless digital microscope would allow the students to enlarge their work up to 1000 times. Wow!
Students would be able to see minute details on the drawings and etchings. The images can be viewed on a phone, iPad, and or smart board. As the teacher, I could use wireless digital microscope to demonstrate techniques for working on a miniature drawings and etchings.
