The items and materials in my list already have a "home". This means I have thought thoroughly on what we need to optimize space in the classroom. I am replacing my teacher space with a rolling podium to be more flexible to students needs and allow more space for students to learn. The individual bins will be used to store individualized work for students to meet learning goals. Often times work and supplies get lost. These bins will help keep all items organized and in a designated space. Wondering about the lights? Often times in schools, especially older building the lights can be distracting to some students. Lamps used to be a great fix, however they take up space. LEDs allow the perfect amount light in the classroom and little space on walls and ceilings.
Utilizing space to it's fullest potential is a key for student growth.
Students need space to collaborate, experiment, and successfully apply all skills. Some students have a higher stamina then others. For the students who need a little more movement or activity, the wiggle feet allow movement without distraction. With all the materials on the list our classroom will be more inviting and allow a more natural work space and flow.
